Space Mountain was conceived by Walt Disney as a rollercoaster type ride even way back into the 1960's. Unfortunately the technology at the time was not suitable to fulfill his vision for the futuristic space port attraction. Production eventually started in the early 1970's with the advant of the pressurized steel tube coaster controlled by a computer. The attraction opened first in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World on January 15, 1975.

About this Wiki

A wiki is defined as a website where every user can contribute their own knowledge to further the site. This wiki has been set up in an attempt to be the end all solution to Disney related knowledge on the web. There are many, many sites out there with a wealth of information on all things Disney and we hope to bring the whole community together to contribute what they know to this large Disney "repository" of facts.

This wiki in particular is titled the "MHikipedia". It is the initals from MouseHub fused with the name Wikipedia. To add to the cleverness factor, it can be pronounced "MickeyPedia", but my guess is that soon enough there will be a site called just that. It may also be pronounced "Mee-kee-Pedia".

If you're new we recommend checking out this great beginners guide from the original wikipedia. It is a great starting guide to editing. If you would like some practice, feel free to test your editing prowess in the MHikipedia Sandbox. If you're already a seasoned pro feel free to jump right in and start editing.

Any or all questions can be directed to any of the SysOps on their "talk" pages or you can send a personal message on the MouseHub.com Discussion Boards.
